Caerleons Water Mark MH MNH
February 11, 1997 ~ August 9, 2010

Sierra changed our lives. She introduced us to the wonderful world of Hunt Tests and our Hunt Test Family. She always gave 110% and truly excelled at the game. It was an honor to walk with her to the line. She will never be replaced in our hearts, and always will be missed. She taught us me much more than I taught her. She can now run through the clouds chasing angels!

It is with a profound sadness and a very heavy heart that we announce that Deepwaters Holy Moses MH, QAA has moved on to a place unencumbered by the limitations of this world. It is dreadfully hard to suffer the loss of his presence; it is only made easier by the memories of the joys of his time with us.
Moses, Moses, Moses…
You took us on a wild ride that we often had a hard time keeping up with. You came into this world at a very important time in our lives. We learned more from you than we ever taught you and you gave us experiences we would never have had without you. Your ribbons and trophies don’t match your accomplishments. You were 150%, 24/7, you are The Mo Man, the Mochine; you were the big puppy that never quit. We named “Holy Moses” while you were still in the whelping box. You were our protector. You were all Chesapeake.
The memories and images are vivid and will last forever. No mark was too hard or too far, no scent was too cold, no trial or test was beyond your talent, no pheasant was safe from your flush, no retrieve was missed. As our good friend and hunting partner Bob said, “you had game”.
I will miss you waking me a 3:30 am everyday, I will miss the bike rides, I will miss you talking to us, I will miss being drug to the line, I will miss standing at your side, I will miss you eagerness to always be doing something. Mostly I will miss your big head to pet.
You can now break and cheat and run the bank and always work into the wind and we will still try to catch up to you.

Steve Jones Memorial
 |
Steve Jones had joined Marin Retriever Club just several months ago. Nevertheless, he had volunteered to work on our website, renovating and modernizing it. He and I had conversed through e-mails daily for the last few months working out the details. He was very excited that the time was very close to publishing his efforts. I was fortunate enough, as were a few other members, to preview some of the amazing things he was doing for the Club's site. He was very, very talented.
We all were stunned when we learned that while en route from San Francisco to his Sonoma home to train with the dogs, he had a heart attack and passed away. It was very quick and unexpected.
Steve and Nancy were avid members of the Dobbs training group in Marysville. He took every opportunity to be present and watch and help while Nancy trained with the group. He will surely be missed.
